Chow's is a local Castro restaurant that's popular in the neighborhood, but not on my list of great, or even good, eateries. I personally find it pretty average and middle of the road, though I'll give them credit for being sustainable and proponents of organic produce where possible. In any case, we grabbed dinner there, and topped it off with the recommended dessert.

Now don't get me wrong, there's no such thing as a bad dessert usually ... and their ginger cake was perfectly good. It just wasn't particularly remarkable or unique, and the pumpkin ice cream while tasty, didn't leave me with much of an impression. Overall, for something that sounded like it had so much promise, it kind of felt ... average. Which I guess is in line with the restaurant.
In any case, good, but this won't be something I'll be itching to go back to and revisit.
