After three failed attempts, which threw off our regular weekly schedule of dessert tasting, we finally nabbed ourselves the fifth entry on the list: Lemon Cookie ice cream from the Three Twins Creamery in Lower Haight. This flavor is apparently so popular that they ship it into the store in the morning and sell out by the afternoon, and after getting our hands on it, I can tell why.
It's basically a light, citrus tinted vanilla ice cream with delightful chunks of lemon cookie mixed in, and half the joy of eating it is mining those bits of cookies out. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but I could swear I've had them before and I'm sure my brother would recognize the flavor as well. This was definitely one of the better desserts on the list we've had, and we look forward to going back and getting more (especially when friends come to visit).
