#4: Caramel Ginger Hot Chocolate

Since we'll be camping up at Lassen Park this weekend (blog post on that forthcoming), our scheduled dessert tasting came a bit earlier this week, but it turned out to be the perfect San Francisco summer day for hot chocolate: dreary, foggy, and crisp.

This week's entry led us to Christopher Elbow, a local chocolatier located in the ever quaint and charming Hayes Valley district. Despite the lure of fancy truffles and artisan chocolates, we stayed focused and limited our order to the recommended hot liquid variety, with T opting for the caramel ginger flavored version while I settled for the citrus infused one.

The caramel ginger one tasted great, though my "citrus" flavoring was practically non existent, and I had to settle for what seemed like good ole fashioned plain hot chocolate. That said, we really enjoyed the dessert, though nothing has come close to dethroning the Alfajores from a few weeks back in terms of wow factor. Guess we'll be going back for those ...

There's a Christopher Elbox here in KC and his chocolates are quite tasty! I enjoy his regular hot chocolate, I think it's called the Chocolate Noir.

I've decided that this blog has turned evil. Describing and showing me pictures of sweets I can't have!?! Mean!
