This week's entry in our ongoing tasting was The Slanted Door's coconut tapioca pudding, so we made our way to the ferry building on Sunday afternoon to etch the third notch in our dessert bedpost.
The Slanted Door is a renowned high end Vietnamese restaurant on the water's edge, and despite living in the bay area for over 6 years now, it was my first time dining there. I've heard so much about it, and thought the food was really tasty, though it didn't knock my socks off or anything. Great stuff, just not mind blowing.

Unfortunately, the chef is fairly creative and changes the menu every few weeks, so 7x7's recommendation, the coconut tapioca pudding, had already been replaced with the banana flavored equivalent, paired with avocado ice cream and a lime meringue. All in all, it was very tasty, though we're both not fans of the texture of tapioca, and thought the presentation ultimately outweighed the final result.

OK, I have to draw the line at avocado ice cream...
