Uncles For Easter

T and I made a trip down to Dallas over Easter weekend to spend time with my brother and his wife, my parents, and most important of all, the newest addition to the family, little Ciela. It was a heart warming experience to see my brother as a father and hold Ciela in my arms ... she really is adorable! We spent most of our time talking and catching up, playing games, taking care of the baby, competitively painting easter eggs (I won), and thanks to my parents' generous babysitting, a chance to spend a day leisurely exploring Dallas.

In between the family festivities, we had a chance to hang out with two of my closest friends, Leah, who I've known since high school, and Marium, who I met while working for the school paper at A&M. When you've known people more than half your life, there're lots of hilarious stories to share over a beer or two ...

Sadly, Sunday came around, and it was time for us to head home. Visiting my family and longtime friends is usually bittersweet ... it's always a fun and grounding experience, but it leaves me missing them as well. Here's hoping I'll see them in the bay area soon ... wink wink, nudge nudge.

Love you all, and thanks for such a great trip!
