Oh my god, this has to be the single most exploitative piece of marketing I've ever laid eyes on. I mean, you're sitting there watching it, thinking, what an intense short film. Trigby was even moved to some tears in the middle of it.
Then the bitch's hair starts whipping around, going crazy, and I turn around to him, and state in my smartass tone, "watch this be some hair product commercial," not for a second being serious.
And then, after the crescendo, there it is. Bold, lacking any sense of shame. The Pantene logo, letting me know, that I (yes, I too) can SHINE!
I was too distracted by the concept of a deaf violin player to get caught up in the short. Sure, Beethoven was deaf towards the end but violin?! Just about any other classical instrument (piano, guitar, flute) ... maybe. But violin requires precision fingering which you're only going to get to practice if you can hear the notes. It's like, why even bother practicing if I can just win people over with awesome hair?
That said, I'm okay with the general idea of a good short being sponsored by some product. There have been a couple nice Coca Cola shorts, for example. Also, I use Pantene Pro V and my hair looks fabulous.

Wow. Just ... wow.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
I'm switching shampoos immediately.
I've been using Pantene every day since I first watched that video!
Now, although my hearing is starting to go, I can play Pachelbel's Canon in D on my violin.
Weeping a little, but shiny,
Trigby
yeah, the Pantene at the end took away from it all. I hate Pantene... it over conditions my hair.
